From Dan:

Heavenly Father,

You sent Your only Son to redeem us from our fallen state that we might belong to You completely in body, mind, and spirit.

You utter truth; Your Eternal Word fulfills Your truth through the ultimate goodness of the Cross renewed in every Eucharistic sacrifice; Your Holy Spirit emanates the captivating beauty of Your truth and Your Son’s goodness, drawing us continually deeper into Your Communion of Love and Life.

Your servant John Paul II proclaimed through word and action that Christ is an “open door” that leads to fullness of life in time and eternity. With Mary, John Paul contemplated Jesus’ face–every gesture of his life, death, and resurrection. From his Marian attitude, John Paul issued his message of hope in Christ, the Redeemer of Man, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Now, Father, through the intercession of John Paul II, we seek Your grace in following Jesus more generously. By reflecting on John Paul’s life, may we come to full stature in Christ Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

In future blogs, I will explore the personal influence of John Paul II in a series called “Under his Tutelage.”
